Garbage & Recycling Information
The village's trash, recycling, and yard waste removal is contracted to Flood Brothers Disposal.
All solid waste material must be placed at the curb by 6:00 AM the day of your scheduled collection, but no earlier than 6:00 PM the day before your pick-up.

Residents will be provided with one 95-gallon refuse cart, one 65-gallon recycling cart, and one 95-gallon yard waste cart. Additional refuse, recycling, and yard waste carts are available for a $3.00 monthly rental billed directly from Flood Brothers. Contact them at 630-261-0400 to order additional carts.
To report a lost, stolen, or damaged cart, contact Flood Brothers at 630-261-0400.
Refuse will be picked up weekly. General refuse should be placed in the blue can with a blue lid. Additional trash is accepted that is containerized, not weighing more than 50 pounds per can, or exceeding 35 gallons.
Recycling will be picked up weekly. Recycling should be placed in the blue can with a green lid. View the recycling guide (PDF) for more information on which items will be collected for recycling.
Yard waste will be picked up weekly from April 1 through December 15 on the same day as your refuse and recycling collection. Yard waste should be placed in the green can. Additional yard waste shall be placed in a plastic or metal container with a tight cover, or a biodegradable kraft bag, of a size no larger than 35 gallons and not exceeding 50 pounds. All bundles of brush will be collected providing the bundles do not exceed a weight of 50 pounds per bundle, are not more than four feet long, are not more than two feet in diameter, do not contain limbs greater than three inches in diameter, and are tied with a compostable material.
Bulk items weighing less than 50 pounds will be collected each week on your collection day at no additional charge. Examples of bulk items include mattresses, box springs, small tables, chairs, and other small furniture. For bulk items weighing more than 50 pounds, please call Flood Brothers at 630-261-0400 at least 48 hours prior to schedule a special pick-up.
Collection for one white good item per week will be collected for no charge. Example white goods items include: refrigerators, dishwashers, water heaters, washers, dryers, etc. Residents must contact Flood Brothers at 630-261-0400 48 hours before collection day to schedule a pick-up.
Weekly collection will be provided for electronic recyclables. Residents must contact Flood Brothers at 630-261-0400 48 hours before collection day to schedule a pick-up.
Household Hazardous Waste
Residents are required to contact Flood Brothers at 630-261-0400 when possible hazardous waste material may need to be disposed of at least 48 hours in advance of collection. Examples of hazardous waste items include paint, pesticides, poison, cleaning solvents, oil, gasoline, and other automotive fluids. Flood Brothers will work with residents to find the best solution for disposal with the assistance of Cook County Recycling Programs.

If your regularly scheduled pick-up is on or after the holiday, your pick-up will be delayed by one day.
