Evergreen Park Historical Commission
The Village of Evergreen Park,  its Historical Commission and the Evergreen Park Public Library are excited and busily planning for the Village's 125th Anniversary in 2018!

The main celebration of events will occur in July of 2018, which, ironically, coincides with the 50th Annual Evergreen Park Independence Day Parade. . .and it will be a big one!

In July of 2018, the Historical Commission will open its display of vintage Evergreen Park photos and artifacts at the Senior Center for a limited time.  The Library will also host an extensive photo exhibit.

A book on Evergreen Park's history will be published and available.

A filmed documentary history of the village will be produced and shown on the big screen (and will also be available on this website).

Plus, several surprises along the way!

We are still collecting materials for this display and will be holding an ARCHIVING EVENT in the month of July of this year.  More information on everything will be available soon!

If you have any questions about the Historical Commission, please do not hesitate to give us a call at (708) 422-1551. . .or drop us an email to .

Listen to an audio dramatization of the story of Evergreen Park's GREAT TRAIN ROBBERY, which took place on February 25, 1928.  This dramatization, acted by members of the Evergreen Park Candlelight Theatre troupe, was recorded two years ago as broadcast on ALL AROUND E.P., a limited-series Village Podcast.  Short radio play runs 15 minutes.  Clicking the link will open your default audio player.    LISTEN TO THE STORY!

Evergreen Park Public Library
Our wonderful, local library has an extensive photo collection of Evergreen Park history and are currently working with StoryCorps to document your "EP" Story on audio.

The next recording event will take place in October.  This is an incredible opportunity for you (or a family member) to sit in a relaxed, informal session and simply tell us all about your memories of growing up in Evergreen Park.

In the meantime.. . browse through the Library's online photo exhibit;  and while you're there, visit all the wonderful programs that the Library has to offer each and every day. . .
