Waste Pickup / Hazardous Waste
Your Weekly Trash
Waste Collection services are provided by Waste Management.  Should you have any problems with your trash and/or recycling, please call Waste Management at (800) 796-9696.  You can also reach them on their website at

Trash is to be kept in the BLUE BINS.  This is collected every week on your scheduled day of pickup (dependent upon your location quadrant).

Cans are to be placed on the parkway no sooner than 6pm the night before your pickup.

Cans should be returned to their storage area (away from the front of the house) by 8pm the night of your waste pickup.

If you have a bulk item for pickup (such as a couch or a chair), please call Waste Management in advance.

Carpet rolls can be placed along your waste bin.  Please only put out 8 rolls at a time, cut down to 4-foot widths, with a diameter of 2 feet.  (or, 50lbs max).  Rolls need to be tied securely.

Recycling is picked up every other week;  your 2016 Pickup Calendar can be found here.

Hazardous Waste
Paints can go into your regular trash IF you can solidify the contents;  for example, throwing a little kitty litter or sawdust into the can and mixing it should do the trick.  In that case, the sealed can may be placed in a bag and then into your blue waste bin for disposal.

Other materials (solvents, turpentine, varnish, etc.) are a different matter.   The EPA often schedules Hazardous Waste Dropoff Days in the area, and we will promote/advertise those as soon as they are known to us.   You can visit the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency at

There is a permanent Hazardous Waste Dropoff located in Naperville at 156 Fort Hill Drive.  They are open Saturdays and Sundays from 9am-2pm.  You may reach them at (630) 420-6095.
