PRESCHOOL OPEN GYM
For boys and girls ages 3 to 5.  This structured class will include stretching, climbing in and around our obstacle course, playing t-ball, football, soccer, basketball, and more. This class will be held on Tuesdays, 12:30-1:30 p.m., starting January 13th.
Fee is $55.00, resident, $60.00 for non-resident. Class will be held at the Community Center.

MOMS AND TOTS CLASSES (Age 3-month to 4 years old)
A comprehensive gym and movement experience designed to allow the child, with the help of the parent, to learn basic stretching and flexibility exercises. Also, movement education principles to increase balance, coordination and body awareness. These classes include songs, finger exercises, equipment exploration as well as socialization for the children. Classes begin the week of January 19, 2015. Mom & babies (3 mo.-12mo.) on Mondays, 10:15-10:50 a.m., Mom & tiny tots (13 mo. – 27 mo.) Tuesdays & Wednesdays 10:15-11:00 a.m.,Wed. 6:15-7:00 p.m., Mom & tots (28 mo.-48 mo.), Monday 6:15-7:00 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesdays 11:00-11:45 a.m. Fee $50.00 for residents and $55.00 for non-residents for 8 weeks.

TUMBLING  (Boys and Girls Age 4+)
We will introduce some basic skills and adding more advanced skills such as running round offs, front and back walk overs, and front and back handsprings for our returning students. Classes are held Tuesdays, starting, January 13, 2015.
Fee is $73.00 for 45 minute class, $75.00 for 1 hour class plus $5.00 extra for non-resident for 8 weeks.

COOKING CLASS  (Age 6-11)
Join in on the fun at our culinary classes for kids. We will be learning the basics of cooking as well as baking. We will be able to eat all that we make in class. Classes held at the Community Center. The dates for the classes are January 10, February 14 and March 14th, 10:30 a.m. – Noon.
Fee for each class if $15.00

GROUP SWIM LESSONS  (Boys and Girls Age+)
Classes will be held on Saturdays,
11:00-11:45 a.m. or 12:00-12:45 starting January 20th and running until February 28.
Fee for 8 weeks is $75.00 for resident and $85.00 for non-resident. 

GIRLS NIGHT OUT (Girls, grades 2 through 5)
Winter themed activities including crafts, games, snacks, and more!
Friday, January 16th -  February 13 -  March 13 - April 17 - May 15th.,
7:00-8:15 p.m., and will be held at the Community Center. Fee is $15.00 per class.

BOYS AND GIRLS DEVELOPMENTAL BASKETBALL LEAGUE
(Boys and Girls Age 6-9)

Beyond the Arc Academy will partner with the Evergreen Park Recreation Department for an instructional league. Players will receive a team shirt and play 40 minute games with equal playing time. Players will participate in 3 weeks of skills and drills, focusing on the fundamentals of individual and team play followed by 5 weeks of team play. Held at the Activity Center on Sundays 11:00-12:00 noon starting, February 22th through April 26th , (no class March 15  & April 5th )      Fee: $60.00 for 8 weeks 

GUITAR CLASSES  (Boys and Girls Age 9+)
This class is for the beginner/intermediate learners. You will learn positions, technique, scales, chords, and sight reading. You may bring either an acoustic or electric guitar. Classes held at the Community Center.
Day: Wednesdays

Beginning: January 28th
Fee: $55.00 for 8 weeks

GET FIT KIDS BOOT CAMP  (age 6-9,  10-13)
Get the lead out in our fitness group as we will run, exercise, learn self-respect for our bodies and encourage each other. Learn new ways to motivate yourself to “Get Fit”
Day: Tue. 4:15-5:15 p.m. (ages 10-13). – Fee: $60.00 /8 wks
Day: Thurs. 3:15-4:15 (ages 6-9) -      Fee: $60.00/8 wks
Location:   Activity Center, starting week of January 19th 

ZUMBA KIDS JR  (Age 6-9)
This is the ultimate dance fitness party that gets kids moving together with fun, educational and exciting dance routines/games. These classes will teach the students the beginnings of Latin dance in fun and healthy ways.
Day:  Thurs., 4:15-5:15 - Fee: $60.00 for 8 weeks 
Location: Activity Center, starting week of January 19th 

Adult Classes – Step & Strength classes, Boot Camp, Zumba, Yoga – Open Swim, Water Aerobics, Adult Volleyball – Call for days, times, fees and beginning dates!!!


The Recreation Department offers programs for children three months old and up. The programs are listed in booklets that are mailed out to residents twice a year. Additional programs are advertised through fliers that are sent out to the schools in the village or listed on our cable station, channel Four. Some of the programs include pre-school for ages 3 to 5, arts and crafts, basketball, computer tots, CPR, French braiding, general gym, Irish dancing, line dancing, martial arts, preschool gym, soccer, square dancing, tap, and ballet just to name a few.

The Recreation Department also provides the following events:
  • Concerts in the park
  • Day in the park
  • Easter egg hunts
  • Fourth of July parade
  • Halloween parades
  • Ice skating lessons at the new ice rink at 9000 South Kedzie
  • Pass punt and kick contests
  • Santa Claus visits the beginning of December through Christmas Eve
  • Summer Day Camps for more than 300 children
  • Special trips to see “big name” entertainment
  • Strength Training Classes and
  • Track and field meets
  • White Sox games and the Star Plaza
  • Yoga Classes
