As Chairman of Public Works I have an inside view of how so much is done for the citizens of Evergreen Park. I am proud of all the great people who work so hard for Evergreen Park residents; e.g. snow removal, street cleaning, trees trimmed, water and sewer services.
Evergreen Park is truly the village that works for you.

Mark Marzullo
Mark Marzullo has served the Village of Evergreen Park as a trustee since 1996. Mark currently serves as a chairman of the finance committee and is also a member of the public safety committee, and the recreation/youth and senior citizens committee.
As chairman of the finance committee, Mark works closely with the Mayor and village treasurer to develop and balance the village budget. “The village is not unlike a typical family trying to balance its budget, you have to live based on the monies available to you. Your village officials believe and promote that same philosophy.”
Mark points out the village has made many improvement with no tax increases to the residents. The new fire house and renovation of the village hall and police department are among those projects along with the strong commitment to revitalize the 95th Street corridor with the purchase of land to create much needed parking to help businesses survive and prosper.

James McQuillan
James McQuillan was appointed village trustee on January 22, 2002. He has been a resident of Evergreen Park for 42 years and currently lives in the northeast quadrant with his wife and three children. As a trustee, Jim chairs the committee for laws and ordinances and works with the other trustees on park maintenance and the youth commission. He is also a member of the zoning and development committee and the recreation/youth and senior citizens committee.
The laws and ordinances in place today keep or village a safe and healthy area to live. In the near future, he will be reviewing our laws and ordinances by upgrading them for the betterment of our village.
The park maintenance committee oversees the conditions of the parks and any repairs to equipment. After reading reports on our parks and observing them personally, he has found all the parks to be well maintained. Jim would live to recognize and thank all departments responsible for keeping our parks and areas of the village clean and attractive.

Norbert Smith
Norbert Smith has been an Evergreen Park resident for over 45 years. Thirty-two of those years have been spent with wife Geri. He has served as village trustee for 6 years. Prior to serving as trustee, Norb was first employed as a police officer in 1960 and eventually progressed through the ranks to Chief of Police in 1978 and retiring in 1995.
As chairman of the Public Safety committee, Norb has the responsibility of overseeing the operation of the police department and the fire department, the two largest departments in the village, comprised of a total of 244 employees, with a combined budget of $6,514,891 for fiscal year 2002. As chairman, he conducts open public meetings, with reports from the chief of police and the chief of fire. These meetings are published as they occur and the public is encouraged to attend. Norb also meets with the police chief and fire chief on a regular basis to discuss current and continuing operations. Planning strategy is an on going process for both fire and police administrators. As needs arise, or desist, the administrators must adjust short-range plans in order to operate efficiently. These plans are communicated to the public safety committee to apprise them of changes in current activity and also used to plan for long range goals which allow the departments to continually review policy and procedures and keep them current with state law and contemporary opinion. Norb also serves as a member of the public works and finance committees.
